The little crafter show: Mix media Monday

So before I start an update on al cricut sale will be ending soon so head on over to my website  for links which yes I get a small commission on, just want to be clear and fair. Now let's get into some mix media fun.

Giving myself about 5 to 10 minutes, looking high and low for what to do use for todays mix media page. This page seemed to came together like, dare I say like magic. It was so easy, fun and great texture.
Your probably  wondering why I only give myself a couple of minutes to gather up my supplies, I don't want to over think it and I want to come together as naturally as possible. I think that if you have theme or a style then it wont come out as plan but if you go in blank working on a page, it's like magic.
Sometimes I do get lucky an idea or style does come with little or few changes. I also feel that you take this route in your mix media work that be flexible to change. I even get luck and no changes are needed. Each page is full of surprises and I always learn something new of each page.

List of supplies:

5x8 mix media page
scrapbooking paper - I used a Halloween collection, digital   set recollection or Tim Holtz paper which I ripped into smaller pieces.

Liquitex ultra mate media gel - I used to glue everything down on this page. I used a palette knife to apply to the paper.

Liquitex gesso - I used gesso for the edge of the page, brushing outward from the center with a foam paint brush. I also use a palette once I poured out of the bottle.

Tim Hotlz tag stencil - I used a foam bush with some gesso to add more texture to the page, pull some of the color back, and add more of a cohesiveness to the page.

Tag - I believe was about 4x5, glued it down to the page and added the stencil design page.

NYC tourist stencil - I used the word Brooklyn, just was calling to me and it is home.

Art anthology  lava stone effects - wanted something bold, rough but beautiful to really draw your eye to the center of the page.

Tim Holtx grunge embellishment - I used a butterfly or angel wing, it just seem to fit, painted with gesso, glued to the tag which is glued down to the page.

Liquitex glass bead gel - love this stuff, rough and clear texture. I wanted something that would not take a from the world now in the center of the page but to help add and stay alone, glass bead gel fit the bill.

Mermaid vibes

I placed an order for a few new polishes that I just fell in love. I mainly really wanted to stamp and see how the shade named 9ml Green Duochrome Nail Stamping Polish Chameleon Lacquer Nail Art Plate Printing 001 from beauty big bang.  I can say that as a nail base color, applies well, and has fantastic color pay off.  Stamping so far I have to do some testing because I did a swap sticker to the bottles and the doesn't seem to show so well.

So the bottles on stamping polish came, and I was so excited. The colors both looking beautiful in the bottles.  Since I had some swap stickers that I bought from Maniology to, place them on the and stamped out the with a lace image. The swap me stickers are black and white. This is supposed to help with you see how a stamping polish will look on a light or dark color nail. I think this is a great idea wished more companies would add them.

I used a base coat on my nails. I think that I could have just painted my nails with one coat,…

Spring time Mani

So like most I am so excited for the warmer weather and beautiful spring colors. So far spring seems to be taking its time to get here. I have been somewhat inspired by the season to create a mani from the spring equinox sky which I found on google.  The image is of the night sky with stars swirling around in night sky. The colors look like to navy, purple, white and orange.
I tried a couple of different ways to all the colors, but I could make it work. I finally settled on adding a light blue since I was trying to turn this into a spring mani. A lot of the items that I used are from Maniology. So let's get into steps again I sorry no video for this post and few photos.

1)  You want to start with clean nails and then add a base coat. I used Maniology base coat, or sometimes I use  Sally Hansen quick dry base and top coat.

2) For some of the nails, I painted them with two coats of  Celestial  I wait for a bit and added Maniology speedy dry top coat.
The other nails I stamped …
